  • Scaleup

In recent years, chromatographic purification of valuable substances such as pharmaceuticals and food additives have becomes the key technology for these industry fields. Mitsubishi Chemical is now pleased to propose new scaleup concept of separating valuable substances to higher purity by more precise separation process.

  • Same separation matrices for all chromatographic scales

Mitsubishi Chemical's separation materials include ion-exchange resins and synthetic adsorbents based on synthetic polymers, which are chemically stable and high durable.  Mitsubishi Chemical offers these materials for applications from analytical to industrial separation processes with a wide variety of base polymer matrices and particle sizes.  The best chromatographic mode can be selected in accordance with property of target substance.  Almost the same separation materials and chromatographic conditions can be applied to separation processes from small analytical scale to large, industrial scales.  Employing our new concept can shorten developing period for industralization.

  • analysis

This is the first step for paving the way for large scale separation, and it will also be utilized for process control of industrial scale separation and quality control of final product. This is small scale but very important key technology because precious information can be obtained.

  • preparative

This is the next step of scaling up from analytical separation. In this step, sufficient amount of valuable substances are obtained to take pharmacological tests or effective tests. Furthermore, valuable information is earned and is used for determining optimum separation conditions, and production cost can also be estimated in this stage.

  • industrial separation

This is the final step for industrial separation and mass production. In this step, the most suitable separation system is constructed considering stability and durability of separation materials. It is advised applying the information and know-how obtained from former steps of analytical and preparative scale, to make the process more efficiently.
